When doing my own hair I typically style it one of two ways, a quick blowout (think 5 minutes, with minimal prep) or pulled back in a ponytail. Most days I do not have time to fuss, I am lucky if I even get a shower. But wouldn't it be great to have the know how to mix it up for a date night or special event? Stylist Jaclyn Beith, of 8 the Salon in Charlotte, NC, shares how to take one haircut and style it three ways in easy to follow steps.
1st Look "Glamorous Volume"
Spray Oribe's Maximista Thickening Spray liberally onto roots and comb throughout for even saturation from roots to ends. Starting in nape use a 2 inch round brush to promote volume, shine, and to create some movement. Make sure to blow dry on medium heat and that the hair is lifted up off the scalp. This helps ensure optimal volume. Set with a light dusting of Oribe's Superfine Hairspray for flexible hold.
2nd Look "Deconstructed Waves"
Use a flat iron or a curling wand to push hair into waves that move away from the face. Be sure to leave out the ends for a more raw unkept texture. Once all the waves are placed, spray Oribe's Dry Texturizing Spray at the roots to promote volume and a "lived in" feel.
3rd Look "Upswept Do"
Use a curling wand, add more loose wave to the hair. Spritz Oribe's Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray to create a pliable texture within the hair. Divide the hair into 3 sections. Take first section from behind each ear and gather at nape. Twist into a rose like shape and pin into place. Take next section, (one of the sides), and twist back beside first rose twist and pin into place. Repeat with last section (other side), twist back leaving some loose pieces for face framing, then pin on the other side of first rose twist. Set with a generous amount of Oribe's Superfine Hairspray to insure your upswept do lasts all day!
