Charleston, SC-based designer Lauren Lail has drawn inspiration from her travels, coastal landscape, and love for "vintage-made-modern" womenswear to create a collection that truly captures the essence of what every woman wants in a wardrobe. Versatile pieces that feel feminine, chic, and can effortlessly transition throughout one's day. The Seafarer collection offers the modern woman pieces that can easily be mixed and matched, bringing something familiar in terms of their classic styles, but are undoubtedly set apart through unique details and thoughtful design. Styling the pieces for the feature I became an instant fan of the collection, not only for the quality of the fabrics and great fit, but for overall how the clothes made me feel. I could easily envision each look fitting my lifestyle, a Saturday afternoon with the family, brunch with the girls, or a dinner date with my husband. You can't help but want each piece hanging in your closet.
Noteworthy talked with Lauren to learn more about her inspiration for the collection and more about her as a designer.
Noteworthy: What was your source of inspiration for the Seafarer collection?
Lauren: I feel drawn towards comfort in dressing. The Seafarer collection boasts light airy cottons, organic linens, and flowy fabrics that lend themselves to a day out in the city or a walk on the beach. The collection was inspired by travel and the natural textures and colors by the water. You could pack the entire collection for a week away and mix and match it all together.
Noteworthy: Do you have any favorite pieces from the collection?
Lauren: I have found myself wearing the Naomi vest and the Grace blouses so much. They are both so versatile. I will live in the Josie shorts during the hot Charleston summer!
Noteworthy: One word that best describes you as a designer.
Noteworthy: Who are your style icons?
Lauren: I love Lauren Hutton. I think she is effortlessly cool, classic and chic.
Noteworthy: Where can we find/buy the Seafarer collection?
Lauren: You can shop the Seafarer collection in Charleston at Beckett Boutique and on my website is a great place to shop and see how the pieces look on the body.
